Family 2040 is our inaugural Public Observatory. It is the first of what we intend to be a series of long-form research programs on the forces reshaping American life.
We are independent. We do not take sponsor direction on findings. We publish what the data shows.

Marta Loeb has spent two decades studying how people make decisions about family — across adoption, fertility, partnership, and parenthood. Her work has informed practitioners, shaped policy conversations, and reached families navigating some of the most consequential decisions of their lives.
She founded Silver Stork Research to build the kind of sustained, independent research program she kept wishing existed — one that could track a signal long enough to say something true about it.
Family 2040 is that program.
